Philip Gertner is a litigator with in-depth experience in Education Law and Municipal Law. He counsels public and private clients in matters involving governance, labor and employment, discipline and harassment investigations, OPRA/OPMA compliance, land development, eminent domain, municipal planning and zoning, landlord/tenant law, and public and private contracting. Philip’s expertise further extends to counseling cannabis-related businesses, navigating recreational cannabis regulations and licensing requirements, and providing strategic counsel on planning, transactions, municipal law, land use, and zoning. He also advises both public entities and private businesses on governmental filings and licensing compliance, including the formation and structuring of professional LLCs, real estate holding entities, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Previously, Philip practiced at a New Jersey law firm in its Educational, Municipal, Criminal, and Private Practice groups. He also served as a pro bono attorney with Partners for Women and Justice, representing clients in domestic violence and sexual assault matters. Earlier in his career, he was a Law Clerk and later an associate at a New York City law firm, where he handled litigation and complex matters in the aviation and aerospace industries.
